UN Global Compact

NOBA signed the UN Global Compact in 2016. It is a principles-based framework established by the United Nations to help businesses adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies. At its core are ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. The ambition is to accelerate and scale the global collective impact of business by upholding the Ten Principles and delivering the SDGs through accountable companies and ecosystems that enable change.

UN Principles for Responsible Banking

NOBA signed the UN Principles for Responsible Banking in 2024. UN Principles for Responsible Banking is the world’s foremost sustainable banking framework. Through the Principles, banks take action to align their core strategy, decision-making, lending and investment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and international agreements such as the Paris Agreement.

As a signatory of UN Principles for Responsible Banking, NOBA became a member of the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative. An UN-convened network of banks, insurers and investors accelerating sustainable development, catalyzing action across the financial system to support the transition to more sustainable and inclusive economies worldwide.
